The Graduate International Scholarship project is funded by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and will be supervised by Dr Garth N. Wells(http://www.eng.cam.ac.uk/~gnw20). The aim of the project is to investigate and develop parallel solution strategies for large problems with complex geometries. In particular, this will involve the investigation of reconditioning strategies for solid mechanics problems. The Graduate International Scholarship successful candidate will have a PhD in applied mathematics, computer science, engineering or natural sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated skills in numerical linear algebra and high performance parallel computing. Experience with the finite element method and the programming language C++ is an advantage.
